Purpose of Role
The purpose of the role of Specialist Business Teacher is to promote a love for students of all abilities at the school. They must share the responsibility for planning, teaching and assessments of the subject that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential as well as raise the standards of student attainment and achievement. They must take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy and articulacy as well as set high expectations and standards which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. As the sole teacher in the department you would be asked to teach Computing to children in Key Stage 3 and Computer Science IGCSE to Year 10 alongside being a form tutor. We place a heavy emphasis on personalising the learning for our students in order for them to reach their potential, whilst being engaged and having fun during their time at Aspen Heights. We involve our community in order to help us to cater to the holistic needs of our children.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Education
  • PG Diploma

  • UK teaching qualification with QTS

  • 2 years’ full time teaching experience in KS4. Experience of AL Level and/or IBDP in an international school is desirable.

  • A proven track record of securing excellent outcomes at IGCSE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
